But What About Jurassic World: Dominion? What Can The Fans Expect?
Well first and foremost, you can’t expect the movie to be released any time soon. Not in a long shot really. No, although the movie is completely done (principal production, editing, mixing and the rest of the post-production is finished) we can’t watch it… yet… Well, not until the summer of 2022. Indeed. The premiere date for Dominion is set for June 10th, 2022, and we’ve got a long way to go. However, according to Deadline, the premiere of the movie should have happened at the end of 2021… But the pandemic had other plans. Oh well. And what’s also fun about Jurassic World: Dominion? Well, plenty of things really.
First of all the director of the first Jurassic World movie, Colin Trevorrow is making a comeback for the third and most likely last installment of the reboot. Yes. Since he gave up his directorial chair to J. A. Bayona in the Fallen Kingdom, he’s back for the Dominion. And he’s bringing some good old faces with him.
A Mixed Bag Of Old And New Faces
That’s right. Along with the return of the director Colin Trevorrow, there are plenty of more returning faces in the third movie of the franchise. Of course, we should start with the two leading actors. Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard. Yes. They’re back for the third time, but the return of some other cool faces from the franchise is what we’re after. Namely the return of Laura Darn in the role of Dr. Ellie Sattler.
She was an integral part of Jurassic Park and Jurassic Park III, but now she makes a comeback as an Oscar-winning actress. Sam Neill is also back as Dr. Alan Grant and of course, so is Jeff Goldblum as Dr. Ian Malcolm. He was already in The Lost World: Jurassic Park, and in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, but yeah. It’s good to see him in Dominion as well. Speaking of a familiar face, BD Wong is here and the fans can rejoice. Dr. Henry Wu is back and we’re thrilled.
But when it comes to the newcomers in Jurassic World: Dominion there are plenty of those too. Dichen Lachman was cast in an unspecified role, and so was Mamoudou Athie. Omar Sy is a true veteran in the cast of Dominion, but I’m all about Campbell Scott. I’ve been a fan of Campbell since I saw him in The Sheltering Sky and I love the fact that he’ll be taking over the role of Dr. Lewis Dodgson. That role was previously occupied by Cameron Thor as you may recall.
What’s Jurassic World: Dominion All About You Might Ask?
Well, the plot and the intricate details of the movie are under tight wrap. But there are glimpses and pieces of what might the movie entail. And we know all of these tiny details thanks to the director and the cast of the movie. Following the 2018 release of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, Trevorrow stated that the sequel would focus on the dinosaurs. You know the ones that went open source after being sold and spread around the world in the Fallen Kingdom.
It will allow other people (other than Dr. Wu) to create their own dinosaurs and yes. Trevorrow also stated that the film would be set around the world. So that will be an interesting turn of events. A globe-trotting Jurassic World movie. Additionally, the film would focus on the dinosaurs that were freed at the end of Fallen Kingdom. But it would not depict dinosaurs terrorizing cities. An idea that Trevorrow considered unrealistic. We’ll just have to wait to see if the movie is a deserving ending to the trilogy.
And Wait You’ll Have To Do…
Indeed. Yes. The movie is completely done and finished. But although the premiere is set for the summer of 2022… It’s more than likely that the first promo materials won’t come out in the first quarter of 2022 as well. Meaning the first teaser trailer and the first promotional photos from the movie. It’s also more than likely that the movie will go into full campaign mode in the spring of 2022, but we’ll probably get decent footage of the movie in the Superbowl week. Meaning late January and early February 2022. The Superbowl event is something that every studio in Hollywood will be eyeing on and yes. You can expect a decent trailer then.
