Helldivers 2

HELLDIVERS 2 has not been a topic for us at IndieGala. It’s understandable since it’s a fairly new release. However, the previous Helldivers game has, and it was one of our most interesting writings. The article was all about the exploration of military science fiction through movies, and you can check it out here.

But we’re here specifically about Helldivers 2 and Helldivers 2 alone.

Oh and the Helldivers 2 Super Citizen Edition which you can purchase here. If you’re not particularly interested in this edition, then just go ahead and grab the regular game. It’s available here at IndieGala, and so are the previous Helldivers packs and editions here.

BECOME A LEGEND

You will be assembled into squads of up to four Helldivers and assigned strategic missions.

Watch each other’s back–friendly fire is an unfortunate certainty of war, but victory without teamwork is impossible.

THREATS

Everything on every planet wants you dead. That’s what we’re dealing with.

Each enemy has distinct and unpredictable characteristics, tactics, and behavior – but they all fight ferociously and without fear or morality.

THE GALACTIC WAR

Capturing enemy planets, defending against invasions, and completing missions will contribute to our overall effort.

This war will be won or lost depending on the actions of everyone involved.

GTFO

GTFO is a first-person shooter cooperative game but it’s one of the finest you can find out there. It’s also a hardcore cooperative horror shooter that throws you from gripping suspense to explosive action in a heartbeat. And in it, your team of prisoners is dropped into the Rundown when a new Work Order is issued by The Warden. So, the mysterious entity is holding you captive, and you must descend level by level. You must rely on scavenging tools and resources that help you survive in a perilous network of tunnels where gruesome creatures lurk in every shadow. GTFO is a great game to play with your friends and it sure belongs on this list.

Warhammer 40,000: Darktide

We’ve written plenty about the Warhammer lore here at IndieGala. And we’re looking forward to Henry Cavill’s project from the iconic franchise. How about you? But Warhammer 40,000: Darktide is a first-person action video game that we’re aiming for in this article. Yes, the game uses a similar formula to that used in Fatshark’s Warhammer: Vermintide 2. Four players cooperate to defeat periodic waves of AI-controlled enemies and it’s so much fun. Furthermore, the four classes consist of a Veteran, Zealot, Ogryn, and Psyker. So… Don’t forget…. As Tertium falls, Rejects Will Rise.

You can find more Warhammer 40,000 games here at IndieGala.

Deep Rock Galactic

You’ve guessed it. Deep Rock Galactic is a cooperative first-person shooter for the hardcore fans of collaborative shooters out there. Players can play missions solo or with up to three other players, and you also get to choose one of four playable classes. Scout, Engineer, Gunner, and Driller. Critics praised the game’s atmosphere and challenging levels. The combination of random generation and handcrafted environments makes the same missions never feel old. Furthermore, depending on the mission, you either find an alien egg, defend a drilling machine, set up a refinery, or simply collect minerals. But you’ll have company, depending on the hazard level and location. You’ll never be bored with this one. Hey, multiple reviewers compared parts of the experience to Left 4 Dead. Not too shabby right? We thought so too.

Warhammer: Vermintide 2

Another Warhammer project on this list. Because why not? Hey, we told ya we loved this franchise, didn’t we? But yeah. Warhammer: Vermintide 2 is a first-person action co-op-focused action game experienced from a first-person perspective. It’s also the spiritual successor, Warhammer 40,000: Darktide, and the sequel to 2015’s Warhammer: End Times – Vermintide. Set in the Warhammer Fantasy fictional universe, players battle cooperatively against the Chaos army and a race of rat-men known as the Skaven. Yes, this is a fun game to play with friends. A game with lots of enemies, lots of classes and things to do, and for sure lots of beautiful things from the Warhammer series. Don’t miss it.

Aliens: Fireteam Elite

It’s a cooperative third-person survival game set in the iconic Alien Universe. A game that’s a standalone sequel to the original Alien trilogy and more in line with Aliens: Colonial Marines. Meaning focuses on action rather than survival-horror. But at the same time, Fireteam Elite game’s story is a sequel to the Alien trilogy, set 23 years after the original films. And in it, you assume the role of a Colonial Marine on board the UAS Endeavor. A spaceship tasked with responding to a distress call from the outer colonies. Battle through hordes of different types of Xenomorphs, and customize your character and gear. And level up as you try to contain this ever-growing threat. It’s a game that’s atmospheric and faithful to the atmosphere of the franchise. Furthermore, it has nice graphics, gameplay, and environments. Can you handle it?
