Some RPG fantasy games really don’t need a special introduction. Pillars Of Eternity is one of those games, but it’s always good to make an exception. Don’t you think?
A World Of Enchantment In Pillars Of Eternity
Developed by Obsidian Entertainment and published by Paradox Interactive, Pillars Of Eternity is a fantastic RPG. But at the same time it’s a spiritual successor to the Baldur’s Gate and Icewind Dale series, along with Planescape: Torment.
A fantasy game that takes place in the fantasy world of Eora, mainly inside the nation of Dyrwood. And it allows you to play as one of the six races. Human, Aumaua, Dwarf, Elf, Godlike and Orlan. But at the same time, the game allows you to explore a rich and diverse world.
A Trip Down Memory Lane?
For some it may feel like it is a trip down memory lane. Especially If you’ve played D&D as a kid. Or perhaps Neverwinter nights. And the game’s eleven playable classes are something else. Yes, there are the usual barbarians, wizards, rangers and so on. But the cipher and the chanter are the real winners for you. The Ciphers have extraordinary mental abilities. While the Chanters are a bard-like class whose songs and stories awaken lost souls.
So, naturally, you’ll have to be careful with the creation of your character. He can stick out like a sore thumb sure. But if he doesn’t have the powers necessary for survival, he’s not much of use. However, what you’ll love the most here is the improvement. Well compared to the previous games, and in terms of graphic, sound, the combat system and character customization. Especially the graphics and the sound are exceptional. And you’ll most certainly fall in love with the soundtrack too.
But this is a great game with a fantastic immersive story and great gameplay. It’s worth indulging for sure. Pillars Of Eternity is available for purchase here at IndieGala.
