Nickelodeon Kart Racers 2: Grand Prix to be exact. But yeah, do prepare for plenty of racing, and lots of fantastic characters. However, I must preface this post by saying, that I love every single one of these characters. Even before I found them together in this otherwise awesome game.
Nickelodeon Kart Racers And Some Great Cartoon Characters
Indeed. Some of the characters in Nickelodeon Kart Racers are part of my (and pretty much everyone else’s) childhood. Yes, I grew up with plenty of these. While for the others I’ve had the pleasure to introduce them to the younger generation. For instance, I’m happy to report that I babysat a lot of my nieces and nephews over the years. And yes, these Nickelodeon cartoons really come in handy in my babysitting days. Sometimes they were a reward, and sometimes a bribe. Or as I like to call them, futile attempts to get them to eat their veggies. But most of the time they were just a simple and effective past-time… They served their purpose, and I suppose I enjoyed them as well. Heck aren’t we are all kids at heart? Furthermore, regardless of the intent, it’s always nice to start them with the good stuff when they’re young. Don’t you think?
But before I could go on with this post, I believe that a word or two about the game itself is in order.
What’s Nickelodeon Kart Racers All About?
Developed by Bamtang Games and published by GameMill Entertainment, Nickelodeon Kart Racers 2: Grand Prix is a racing video game for all ages. It’s also a sequel to 2018’s Nickelodeon Kart Racers, and yes. As you can probably tell, it’s on sale here at IndieGala. However, that sale is not going to last that much longer. So, make sure to get it while it’s here. It could be gone in a matter of days.
Nickelodeon Kart Racers 2: Grand Prix features a selection of 30 playable characters, consisting of real-life actress JoJo Siwa and characters from 12 different Nicktoons. Furthermore, there are 28 courses, some remastered from its predecessor, and 2 arenas based on different locations from the shows are included in the game. There are also 70 non-playable pit crew characters, three of which can be equipped to racers at a time to give them additional abilities.
And yes, I think I mentioned Shredder in some of my previous posts (the Exit Limbo post, if I recall). But I don’t think I’ve written about many of the characters in Nickelodeon Kart Racers. Which is why I’m so excited about it.

* If you are looking for a kart game like Mario Kart this is the game, it´s very fun and the pit crew mechanic adds more strategy to it. The only downside at the moment it´s the lack of character voices. Said jelric on Steam.

Some of The Nickelodeon Classics
Jojo Siwa
Probably the only real-life character on this list, and probably the youngest one on this list as well. Jojo Siwa is just 17, but a true star in her own right. Siwa started her career as a top-5 finalist and the youngest contestant on the second season of Abby’s Ultimate Dance Competition. And soon began to appear on Dance Moms too. But much like the rest of the characters on this list, she’s easily recognizable among the younger audience. She’s a vlogger, a YouTube personality well known to audiences for wearing large, colorful bows in her hair. And lots of colorful bright clothes and flashy, sparkly makeup as well. I must admit, she’s probably the one and only character in Nickelodeon Kart Racers I knew nothing about beforehand, but hey. It’s always good to learn new things, don’t you think?
SpongeBob SquarePants
Here’s a character I know plenty of. In fact, I love SpongeBob SquarePants so much, that I watched the live-action, motion picture movie The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run last month. It also stars Keanu Reeves in a small, supporting role, and it was wacky as you might imagine. And I can’t really tell you if I was excited more about the movie or the fact that Keanu is in it, but I wasn’t disappointed. It was a good activity on a very cold Sunday night.
Fun fact: The movie has Keanu Reeves’ first live-action appearance in an animated film, as well as the second time he stars in one overall, after voicing Duke Caboom in Toy Story 4 (2019).
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Honestly, I thought about mentioning the 2014 movie, but this post is all about nostalgia, so I took the other direction. The one that brought me to the ’90s and my childhood. I’m talking of course about the 1990 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, which arguably is far superior to any modern project. Indeed, I’m a huge William Fichtner fan, and it’s because of him that I decided to watch the 2014 version. But yeah, 1990 is incredible for so my reasons. It has puppets, practical effects and plenty of love for the characters. Michael Bay’s movie… Not so much I’m afraid.
Fun fact: Robin Williams, who was a big fan of the franchise, provided Judith Hoag with information regarding her character through his comic book collection. Furthermore, the two were co-starring in Cadillac Man (1990) when the Turtles film went into production.
Rugrats
Love me some 90’s classics. Yes, I’m talking both about the 90’s Nickelodeon series, and the 1998 animated movie. And of course, I’ll be the first to defend the 1998 movie, because it has some great voice cast (my girl Tara Strong is outstanding per usual). But the supporting cast (from the real-life celebrities) is not too shabby either. Whoopi Goldberg, Tim Curry, Margaret Cho, Iggy Pop and Patty Smith. Oh, and for the record, I’ve met Patty Smith and yes, she’s awesome IRL too.
Fun fact: Dil was originally going to be voiced by Madonna. But when Tara Strong recorded her scratch voice for the character, her impression of a baby crying was so accurate that it caused a woman in the room, who had just had a baby, to start lactating.
Hey Arnold!
Honestly, I was searching for anything that’s not The Simpsons in the long career of Dan Castellaneta. And somehow I stumbled upon Hey Arnold! Again, I wasn’t disappointed, and that was the case with my nephew. Much like myself, he loved Hey Arnold! So much, and loves him to this day. I get all the credit for that, and I’m proud of that. But the 2002 movie is great too. I know it has pretty low scores and bad reviews, but I enjoyed it.
Fun fact: The film has many references to other films and media such as Mission: Impossible (1996), The Shawshank Redemption (1994), The Incredible Hulk (1978), All the President’s Men (1976), Speed (1994), Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! (1969), and more.
The Ren & Stimpy Show
This is a more grown-up cartoon, but yeah. It’s one of Nickelodeon’s greats and of course, deserves to be on this list. It has adult humor, dirty jokes, and sexual innuendos and as you can imagine it’s great. Add to this, the incredible selection of music, great voice actors and you’ve got yourself a cult series. Not to mention, it had a profound influence on Matt Groening (among others) and plenty of other great animated shows as well. Beavis and Butt-Head, 2 Stupid Dogs and so much more.
Fun fact: Tom Kenny, the voice of SpongeBob SquarePants (1999), once auditioned for the part of Ren on The Ren & Stimpy Show.
The Loud House
Last, but certainly not least. And yes, I’m referring to the Lincoln Loud character in the aforementioned series. Probably one of the most good-natured, well-meaning family nerds out there. Furthermore, Lincoln is a multi-faceted person. Thanks to a life of living with ten sisters of course. Each with a different personality, he is adapted to them, so he can communicate with any of them, and help them with their activities without a problem. I just had to include him on this list, and yes. You have Chris Savino to thank for Lincoln. On September 9, 2020, it was announced that The Loud House had been green-lit for a sixth season consisting of 26 episodes. And a feature-length movie is in development thanks to Netflix. So, rejoice fans of The Loud House. 2021 is looking good.
