Let’s Talk about Resident Evil again. Moreover, let’s talk about Resident Evil Village. The upcoming eighth major installment in the Resident Evil series. And of course the sequel to Resident Evil 7: Biohazard.
Now, the Resident Evil game series has been well documented here at IndieGala. We’ve had reviews on Capcom’s video games. We’ve had reviews on Capcom’s movie adaptations. Not to mention, the introduction to the upcoming Resident Evil reboot. We’ve done that too. And yes, the reboot is currently in production, but there’s plenty of time until the release. Stay tuned for more info on that.
However, let’s focus on Resident Evil Village. What’s so special about it?
What’s Resident Evil Village All About?
Resident Evil Village is set a few years after the horrifying events in Resident Evil 7 Biohazard. And the all-new story-line begins with Ethan Winters and his wife Mia. They’re living peacefully in a new location, and free from their past nightmares. But just as they are building their new life together, tragedy befalls them once again.
And yes, we do have Resident Evil Village, available for pre-purchase here at IndieGala, as well as the Deluxe Edition. There’s plenty of time until the release in May 2021. But you can definitely get it while it’s still hot. Oh! And you know what else is cool about Resident Evil Village? The Capcom’s game is currently part of our February Crypto Sale. Resident Evil Village And Our Favorite Female Vampires
Look, we’ve had plenty of vampire-inspired posts here at IndieGala. And we’re damn proud of them. Old, new, male-female. It doesn’t matter. But because of Lady Alcina Dimitrescu, I’ll focus more on the female portion of the vampires. However, what’s so amazing about Lady Alcina Dimitrescu that the entire gaming community becomes obsessed with her? There’s fan art about her, and there’s cosplay in the making too. It’s safe to say, she’s becoming the favorite baddie from the Resident Evil franchise, and it’s awesome. So…. Who is Lady Alcina Dimitrescu indeed?
Some of social media craze about Lady Dimitrescu
Presenting Lady Alcina Dimitrescu
Well, she’s evil, over 9 feet tall and she runs a coven of her daughters. Furthermore, she’s a mutant human countess and assumedly the matriarch of the Dimitrescu family. Also, according to the Fandom’s page, Dimitrescu’s origins are presently a mystery. In particular the questions of her age. And whether she was born with a Progenitor disease or contracted it later. But she’s a resident of an Eastern European country. And she inherited Castle Dimitrescu, a fortress controlled by the family since its Mediæval inception. Cool right? We thought so too.
But what about our favorite female vampires? Here’s our pick of them. And they all come from both TV and cinema. But yeah. These are some of our best picks.
Eve From Only Lovers Left Behind
Oh, Tilda Swinton how I adore you. Seriously, I would pay good money and watch Tilda play anything. Let alone gorgeous vampire living in Tangier. She’s sophisticated and classy. Oh and she’s friends with Christopher Marlowe. But yeah, Tilda makes for a great vampire. Furthermore, she showed us that aging vampires can be just as sexual and beautiful. And yes, she did later played a vampire in What We Do In The Shadows (the TV series) Ever remains my favorite Tilda vampire role.
Claudia From Interview With The Vampire
Claudia is the youngest vampire on this list, but don’t let her age fools you. She’s vicious, bloodthirsty and dangerous. Despite her innocent appearance and kid-like naivete. A nine years old orphan with golden curls on her head, Claudia will later become resentful of her transformation. But there’s no denying that she’s not an interesting character. And Kirsten Dunst really did this character justice in the 1994 movie. She even earned a Golden Globe nomination. And yes, Claudia is one heck of a vampire. She deserves to be on this list.
Pam From True Blood
Pam Swynford De Beaufort to be precise. And yes. I already mentioned True Blood’s Pam in my True Blood’s look-back post. Maybe you’d care to check it out again, so here’s your chance. You’re welcome. But yeah. Pam is the queen of eye-rolling, sneer, sarcastic remarks and all-around badassery. But at the same time, she’s extremely loyal (especially towards Eric) and serves as his right hand. Along with Sam, she’s one of my favorite characters from True Blood. And I loved her wit and smart-ass attitude too. She’s one of a kind indeed.
Selene From Underworld
She’s more than 600 years old, but at the same time, she’s stoic, serious, cold and detached. As she seldom smiles, she also admits that she’s not good with feelings. However, despite Selene’s stony exterior, she is not entirely apathetic, and she tends to become distressed and vengeful. Especially when those she cares about are threatened, injured, or killed. So, yeah. Seline deserves to be here. Oh and here’s something cool about Kate Beckinsale. Not only did she meet her future husband (the director of the Underground movie), but her then partner played Lucian (Michael Sheen) in the movie too. Seline is a great vampire. And the actress portrayed her in Underworld, Underworld: Evolution, Underworld: Awakening, and Underworld: Blood Wars too.
Drusilla From Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Let’s finish this post with a TV vampire, shall we? Drusilla or simply Dru is Nancy to Spike’s Sid. Indeed, Juliette Landau (Martin Landau’s daughter) even chose the Cockney accent for this role (because of these two). And she was damn good at it. But at the same time, she’s a vampire who possesses innate psychic powers as a human. However, she’s a cunning and dangerous adversary of Buffy and generally considered insane. But then again, she’s tortured to insanity and yeah. She’s one heck of a character despite her crazy nature. Insane is more an apt term. Not to mention, she is also one of the greatest villains ever created, and you have Joss Whedon to thank for that.
