Twelve Minutes

OK, maybe not literally Twelve Minutes… But yeah. We’ll get to hang out with three of Hollywood’s most talented and fascinating actors in this article. And Twelve Minutes the video game is the sole inspiration for that. I mean, what else would we want from this amazing game?

However, this is not the first time I’ve presented the best of an actor’s career. Hey, I already shared my favorite 5 Keanu Reeves movies a while back. You can read all about it here. Yes, this time I’ll focus on the good and the bad, but hey. We have three actors to cover. Not just one.

Well, before we get to the three actors in it, I think it’s fair to tell you a bit more about the game itself.

Twelve Minutes

What’s Twelve Minutes All About?

Developed by Luis Antonio and published by Annapurna Interactive, Twelve Minutes is an adventure game that takes place almost exclusively in a small apartment suite. And requires the player to repeatedly play through events of a 10-minute cycle to try to solve a mystery.

TWELVE MINUTES is a real-time top-down interactive thriller with an accessible click and drag interface. Featuring James McAvoy, Daisy Ridley, and Willem Dafoe.

What should be a romantic evening with your wife turns into a nightmare when a police detective breaks into your home. And accuses your wife of murder and beats you to death…

Furthermore, you find yourself immediately returned to the exact moment you opened the front door. You’re stuck in a TWELVE-MINUTE time loop now. But What Are Some Of The Steam Users Saying About The Game?

Very fun game. I would highly recommend says Dreamy.

While Colaris adds: An absolutely fantastic experience, I insist you play it.

And What About James McAvoy, Daisy Ridley, and Willem Dafoe?

Well, as we mentioned we’ll focus on the best and the worst of their career. The positives and the negatives. The most memorable and the least memorable movies. Which are they? Let’s find out.

Oh and feel free to share some of your picks with us. The best and the worst. We’d love to know it all.

The Best, The Memorable, And The Positive Movies:

Let’s start with the oldest actor in this bunch. Willem Dafoe. A seasoned and respected actor with a career that spans more than 4 decades. He’s got 4 Academy Award nominations and he’s a beloved Hollywood actor that we all love and cherish.

And while it’s hard to pick just one best project from Dafoe. You know… When he has Platoon, The Last Temptation of Christ, The English Patient, and most recently the Northman under his belt. But I’m gonna have to go with Spider-Man. His portrayal of Norman Osborn / Green Goblin is still captivating, but the movie itself is still one of the best in the franchise.

Moving on to… James McAvoy. The finest Scottish export since Sir Sean Connery I say. But yeah. He’s equally talented and respected among the fans. McAvoy can do period drama and X-Men blockbuster like no other. However, probably the best movie from his body of work is The Last King of Scotland. Yes, Forest Whitaker got all the accolades and acclaim. But James was amazing too, and he was robbed in that subsequent awards season.

Daisy Ridley is the youngest actor on the list, but oh so talented. And Ophelia is probably one of her finest projects. Sure he’s best known as Rey in the new Star Wars trilogy. But she’s got plenty of great projects to show for it. And Ophelia is one of them. Not because it’s got the best performance from Daisy, but also great direction, production design and casting.

Twelve Minutes: Let’s Look At The Bad Projects From James, Daisy and Willem

We paid attention to the good, and not to the bad. Every actor has them frankly. The bad movies that they did either for money or for avoiding typecasting. Let’s take a closer look at some of the. The same three actors are in question, but this time we look at their bad projects.

Willem Dafoe’s worst project is 1998’s New Rose Hotel. But it shouldn’t have been the case. It has a great director (Abel Ferrara), and a great cast (Christopher Walken and Asia Argento are in it too). And a great base for the script. William Gibson’s short story of the same title. Sadly the end product is a mess in every sense of the word.

James McAvoy’s worst project is Dark Phoenix. It’s actually a tie between Dark Phoenix and X-Men: Apocalypse, but Dark Phoenix took the trophy here. It was a commercial and critical flow of a movie, and I don’t get it to this day how this movie was actually made. But on a personal note, Dark Phoenix was a total waste of my time and unnecessary poor rendition of the famous Dark Phoenix saga. I can’t wait to find out your opinion about it.

And last but certainly not least… Daisy Ridley has some flops too. Chaos Walking is one of them. But this one had good intentions. And a really talented cast and crew too. The sci-fi dystopian action film didn’t hit the marks in any department, and yes. I consider it to be a true crime against cinema.
