Yup. Both Forza Horizon 5 and It Takes Two dominated last night’s Game Awards 2021. The ceremony which honored the best video games of 2021, hosted by Geoff Keighley, the Microsoft Theater saw the best of the best in the gaming industry. And of course announced the reveals, trailers and pitches of more than 50 different video games. But more on that later.
The winners certainly took the center stage at the Game Awards 2021.
Game Awards 2021: The Winners Take It All
And boy did they. Forza Horizon 5 and It Takes Two were declared winners of the ceremony, with each of the two games winning three separate awards. However, the award for the Game Of The Year went to the family action-adventure platform game It Takes Two. Developed by Hazelight Studios and published by Electronic Arts, It Takes Two is specifically designed for split-screen cooperative multiplayer. Which means that it must be played with another player through either local or online play.
It Takes Two also took the award for Best family game and it dominated the Best Multiplayer Game category as well. Forza Horizon 5 took the award in the Best Audio Design category. But also, in the Innovation in Accessibility category. And in the Best Sports/Racing Game category too.
Elden Ring was pronounced the Most Anticipated Game while beating the likes of God of War Ragnarök, Horizon Forbidden West and Starfield. Halo Infinite on the other hand won the Players’ Voice award, while Kena: Bridge of Spirits triumphed in the Best Debut Indie Game category.
Familiar Faces At The Game Awards 2021
Oh yes, they are. Bandai Namco’s Tales of Arise won the Best Role-Playing Game. Therefore, beating up games like Cyberpunk 2077, Monster Hunter Rise and their very own Scarlet Nexus. But Arc System Works’s Guilty Gear Strive took home the award for Best Fighting Game at the Game Awards 2021.

Returnal was pronounced the Best Action Game at the last night’s ceremony, while Metroid Dread was pronounced as the Best Best Action/Adventure Game.
Here’s a fun fact. Resident Evil 4 took the award for Best VR/AR Game, while Kena: Bridge of Spirits triumphed in the Best Independent Game category. Not to mention, RE 4 is available for purchase as well. Oh and while we’re in the Resident Evil territory… Maggie Robertson took home the award for Best Performance. As you recall, the talented and very tall actress is behind the one and only Lady Dimitrescu character. And if we do say so, deservingly won in this category. Won’t you agree? Nier Replicant ver 1.22474487139 is the game with Best Score and Music of course. And the game with the most Game Awards 2021 nominations Deathloop triumphed in the Best Art Direction and Best Game Direction categories.
Last but certainly not least… Age of Empires IV was pronounced as Best Sim/Strategy Game. While Life Is Strange: True Colors won the Games For Impact Award.

Yup. They were plenty of announcements at the Game Awards 2021. And here are just some of them. Announcements on released and upcoming games were made for A Plague Tale: Requiem, Babylon’s Fall, Chivalry II, Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course, Destiny 2: The Witch Queen. Not to mention on games Evil West, Fall Guys, Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, Forspoken, Genshin Impact, Homeworld 3, Horizon Forbidden West.
And of course, on The King of Fighters XV, Lost Ark, Awakens, Monster Hunter Rise, Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II, Somerville. Don’t forget about the Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, Tchia, Tunic, and Warhammer: Vermintide 2 announcements.
