Superfuse

Superfuse is a novelty for us here at IndieGala. We haven’t written about it before on our blog, and we’re hyped about it. Why? Well because it’s a comic-book-styled game, and an ARPG too.

We love a good RPG on this blog though. Skyrim is one of our favorites and you can check it out here. We even did a great little article about it. But you should definitely check out my colleague’s article about Tales Of Vesperia. Another great article from the Italian Guy.

However, we’re here about Superfuse.

And What Are Some Of The Steam User Comments Saying About The Game?

Super nice. Lots of creativity with skills/fuses. also looks great, finally, something less dark and demonic and more fun looking. says Hoeloe in the Steam Review.

While jbdodgeguy adds: I would pick this up if you love dungeon crawlers. the options for your superpowers can change in a sec to make it just the way you want to play it has a lot of fuse options.

Superfuse And Diablo 2: An Ode To The Legend

You’ve probably read it in the Steam comments. The Diablo connection. Yes. Our description of Superfuse mentions that it’s an action RPG that is a love letter to Diablo 2. But with a twist. So that got us thinking. What was so special about Diablo 2? And which other games are considered love letters to this game? Which games have plenty of influence from Diablo 2? We selected a few of them and we hope you’ll like them. After all, these claim to be the love letter to Diablo 2 as well. Much like our game of the day. Superfuse.

Warhammer: Chaosbane

The true fans of Chaosbone would agree that Chaosbone is a bit slower-paced than its designated counterpart here. Some might even liken it to Diablo 3 for that matter. Or as one Redditor put it- Chaosbane is basically Great Value Diablo 3. But the consensus is that Diablo 2 is much more “old school” and in many senses more difficult to progress through. With more challenging in terms of difficulty and builds. Furthermore, The extra level of control you have over abilities is a nice addition to the Diablo formula. But this is mainly Warhammer Diablo, and you can understand why the team behind Diablo 2 had so much inspiration to choose from.

Baldur’s Gate

First and foremost, Diablo 2 is much much shorter than Baldur’s Gate. Secondly, Baldur’s gate will take you a while to get into. While Diablo 2 is the kinda game where u will either not be too bothered playing it after an hour or you will be sucked down the rabbit hole. Baldur’s Gate is good if one wants to have a party, more things to explore, and more dialog to choose from. And generally, if one wants to put more effort into their gaming session and have a “more complex” gaming experience. Sure, they’re different games but tbh, but if you’re planning to start with both, then start Diablo 2. But yeah, they’re both good.

Dragon’s Crown

Here’s the thing. When compared to the original Diablo, they are quite similar. Methodical dungeon crawling with random levels, a dark story, a broody town and random loot and character progression. But over time, some would disagree with that assessment. For some, Diablo is a fast-paced game with plenty of loot. While Darkest Dungeon is slow with most items being supplies to survive. In fact, the loot system and its surrounding mechanics were suggested by Ohnishi and based on those in Diablo. Furthermore, Random dungeon generation similar to Diablo was dropped early in development. So players could enjoy memorizing and mastering each dungeon. Yeah. Some of the similarities are evident. The others not so much.

Diablo 3

Because why not?

It’s the third installment of the series. And its set 20 years after the events of Diablo II. It’s natural to serve as an inspiration and to have an influence on the game. There are certain elements that repeat and repeat between games. The Barbarian and Necromancer classes are in both games, the world is the same place, just at different points in time. Heck, It’s what came after Diablo 2 after all. While some praised the music and audio of Diablo 3, the art of Diablo 2 is still unmatched for the fans. And while the graphics of Diablo 3 are superior (why wouldn’t they be), the expansion packs od Diablo 2 are better for some. Last but not least… Diablo 3 may have better controls and gameplay… The story is so much better at Diablo 2. But we’re curious. Which one do you prefer?

tell us all about your preferences.

And, while we’re at it…
