Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite

Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite is the latest game in the classic fighting series. This videogame takes some elements of Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 and makes some improvements.

Is that a good fighting videogame? Yes, although some aspects might not satisfy lovers of the genre. Why? Well, find out in my review!

An infinitely evil enemy

Ultron Sigma, the main villain

The first thing I want to mention about Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite is the main enemy. This character is also the cornerstone of the game’s plot. Yes, this is the first game in the saga that has a real plot. An interesting idea that in some respects has also been developed well.

Ultron Sigma is the main villain, a hybrid that contains precisely Ultron and Sigma, two evil characters. Ultron is a robot from the Marvel Universe, its sole purpose is to destroy humanity. Sigma is a villain in some Megaman games, a corrupt and ruthless tyrant.

However, the purpose of this character is to accumulate power to dominate the world. Not exactly a novelty, but I liked the originality of the villain. Through cutscenes and story mode stages, you can learn even more about the personality of this enemy. At least, that’s an improvement over the other chapters of the series that I appreciated.

Marvel Vs. Capcom: Infinite, an aggressive gameplay

Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite gameplay

Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite is a pure fighting game and gameplay is its strength. By and large, the gameplay is always the same: you have to destroy your opponents using special moves, combos, and your reflexes. Regardless, there are some interesting innovations in this work developed by Capcom.

First, you can select two characters, so you can create a team. In this way, you will be able to make fabulous combos. If you are a fan of the series you will be able to have incredible fun.

Of course, you should know that the combos are short. However, you can use your imagination to create different and effective attacks. You can also take advantage of the opportunity to change the hero to cover up the shortcomings of your characters. To be honest, this aspect takes away the fluidity of the game and favors the new gamers who approach the series.

It bothered me to see how once again the new generation of gamers has the advantage. I’m not saying that they should suffer, but they should learn combos and attacks, improve after many defeats and not constantly change a character to disorient the opponent. But that’s just my opinion.

Infinity Gems are in the game

The second innovation lies in the Infinity Gems. The cosmic artifacts of the Marvel Universe will be in the game and you can use them to harness fantastic powers. All in all, they are good power-ups, and if used in the right way they can overturn a battle. Believe me, during online battles losing to the powers of gems will make you angry!

Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite characters and arenas

Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite has a lot of playable characters

Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite has several playable characters. On one hand, you can use in your battles such classic Marvel heroes as Captain America, Hulk, Spider-Man, Iron Man, Thor, Ghost Rider and many others. On the other hand, you can play with Capcom icons like Megaman the Blue Bomber, Chun-Li, Ryu, and others from the Street Fighter series, as well as Dante from DmC or even the Nemesis from Resident Evil 3!

At the same time, you will find yourself fighting in spectacular arenas. Some scenarios will be familiar to you because you may have seen them in the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies. In particular, I appreciated the different details of the scenes and some easter eggs that you will notice in the background.

In short, Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite is a must have if you love movies and fighting games.

Different Game Modes

Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite has several game modes

In addition to the aforementioned Story Mode and Multiplayer, there are also other game modes in Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite. Arcade Mode is the classic mode that takes you to defeat several characters before reaching the final clash with Ultron Sigma or Ultron Omega.

Mission Mode will allow you to complete some challenges with different characters. Plus, in Training Mode you can try your moves, especially those combined between two characters. Finally, you can try Collection Mode, a mode that will allow you to unlock extras and cutscenes.

Ultimately, you will notice how Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite is not repetitive, it possesses original longevity and you will appreciate the videogame.

Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite, unleash your countless power

Finally, Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite is the game you have to try if you love fighting games. Plus, I’m sure you can like this game even if you love Marvel movies. If you have already tried the game, remember that I am always curious to know your opinion about it!
