Marvel vs Capcom Infinite

Marvel Movies and Marvel-inspired video games. I mean does it get any better than this? Not for me. A die-hard Marvel fan. Yes, Marvel vs Capcom Infinite is next on the agenda here at IndieGala, and I love it. Love writing about them equally. Both the Marvel Movies and the Capcom video games. And yes, we do have plenty of Marvel vs Capcom video games here at Indie Gala, but Marvel vs Capcom Infinite is of course on sale right now. So, make sure to check it out.

I mean I already touched on both topics before. Avengers Endgame, the potential Capcom Cinematic universe, the Monster Hunter film franchise and lots of other related topics as well. To be quite honest, I can’t get enough of any of them. But for now, let’s focus on one other Capcom game and one other great Marvel movie.

I’m talking about the 2017 Marvel vs Capcom Infinite and the 2018 Avengers: Infinity War movie. Two incredibly creative projects, that intertwine in a story, characters and so much more. How? Scroll down to find out.

However, before I dive into the majesty that is Infinity War, let’s take a close look at the game itself. What’s Marvel vs Capcom Infinite all about? What characters can we find there and what’s so special about it?

Marvel vs Capcom Infinite: A Closer Look

Developed and published by Capcom, Marvel vs Capcom Infinite is the sixth main entry in the Marvel vs. Capcom series of crossover games. Much like with the rest of the video games, the players control the characters from both teams Marvel and Capcom. And of course, they compete in tag team battles.

Marvel vs Capcom Infinite is an epic clash between two storied universes: Marvel vs. Capcom. Ultron Sigma has begun the eradication of all biological life. Against all odds, heroes stand together against the ultimate threat, their only hope laying with the all-powerful Infinity Stones.

As for new characters (from the Infinite Character Pass) in the Marvel roster are listed Black Widow, Black Panther, Captain Marvel, Gamora, Ultron and Winter Soldier. While on the opposing team, Jedah Dohma, Monster Hunter, Sigma and X are the brand new characters that you can fight with. As a new gameplay mechanic here in this particular game are the legendary Infinity Stones that temporarily grant players with unique abilities and stat boosts.

Speaking of the Infinity stones, they do play a huge part in the Infinity War as well. Which brings me to….

Marvel vs Capcom Infinite: The Avengers united in Infinity War

Avengers Infinity War started off with a bang. Literally. Thanos started wreaking havoc in the first 5 minutes of the movie, and I liked that. It really set the tone nicely for what was to come. Not to mention it presented a perfect opportunity for the Avengers to assemble. This time for the ultimate goal, and this time in all corners for the Universe.

I was bummed out for the eventual fate of my favorite Marvel character Loki (spoilers), but the movie also it gave a chance to the animosity between Captain America and Tony Stark to end. (Spoilers once again folks). Frankly, the most surprising thing in that area was the fact that Tony Stark uses a flip phone, but I digress. I suppose that’s a thing in MCU. Everyone that was able to lend a helping hand, did, and that’s what counts.

Thanos: The ultimate baddie?

Ah, Thanos. Still not the No. 1 baddie in MCU’s history, if you ask me. That title belongs to Loki (although there’s a thin line in his evil cunning shenanigans). But I was grateful for his role in Infinity War. As small as it was. On the other hand, Thanos is something different. Honestly, I was slightly surprised how very little of his narcissism and violent sadism was shown in this movie. His motivations were clear and thrived towards eugenics, but there could have been so much more depth to this character. Not that much is explained beyond his basic convictions. I guess you can cram so much character in a 2 hour and a half movie, and some of them will suffer the limited screen-time.

And much like every other deranged narcissist, he thinks that he’s the hero of this story. He justifies his actions for the greater good and very few people can stop him. Hence, the assembly of the Avengers.

However, the flash-back scenes with Gamora make him formidable at the very least, and regardless of what your opinion of him is… You can’t really say that he isn’t memorable. Ultimately you can say the same about Josh Brolin’s performance, but everyone has its favorites. What’s your favorite performance in Infinity War? Tell us in the comment section below.

Avengers: Infinity War is the beginning of the end

You can say that the Infinity War is the beginning of the end. For so many iconic characters and a decade long storyline. Intertwined and carefully nurtured by the MCU, Infinity War is the transitional piece that signaled the end.

The end of so many characters and the end of an era. But in contrast to the Avengers Endgame, Infinity War proved to be quite the somber, dark and serious piece of history. MCU history that is. It shocked us at the very beginning and near the end, but like I said in the Endgame post. Sometimes sacrifices are being made and there’s nothing that we can do about it.

Infinity War is an epic conclusion of Marvel’s first 10 years of Cinematic excellence.

It’s one of the few movies that end with the bad guy claiming victory. The good guys are defeated, decimated and scrapping for answers. I don’t know about you, but Infinity War devastated me. As a Marvel fan (both the movies and the comic books), I felt a sense of void after I left the movie theater.

Also, it made me want Endgame to come even faster. But, all and all, it was a dark, bleak and sad assembly before the final blow.

Your thoughts
