There are so many Ubisoft discounts in the last period and I think it is appropriate to make an Assassin’s Creed Ultimate Must Read Franchise List. I think this franchise has been fundamental to the history of videogames. Over the past 10 years, the chapters of the Assassin’s Creed saga have always conquered gamers.
What are the most important chapters of the Ubisoft franchise? Let’s discover them together with my personal Assassin’s Creed Ultimate Selection.
Franchise List: games to try at least once in a lifetime
The Assassin’s Creed franchise just got bigger and bigger. In fact, in addition to the games there were created comics and a movie.
However, in my Assassin’s Creed Ultimate List I decided to include only the most important games in the saga.
Assassin’s Creed Director’s Cut Edition
The first Assassin’s Creed is a must, the “founder” of the saga. You can play as Altair, an epic assassin engaged in defending his cult against the Templar invaders in the Holy Land.
Besides, you can discover a story intertwined between the present and the future, which will leave you speechless. I consider Assassin’s Creed a gaming masterpiece. It is one of the best games of the last 20 years for the narrative and twists.
Of course, the gameplay has not aged well. The fights are not fluid and stealth actions are cumbersome. Regardless, it is an enjoyable game that will drag you into a memorable adventure. Besides, it’ll open up a world for you in the Assassin’s Creed universe.
If you’ve never tried the game, I suggest you do it now. The Assassin’s Creed Director’s Cut Edition is available at a special price, do not miss the opportunity.
Assassin’s Creed 2
The sequel to the first Assassin’s Creed is a milestone in modern videogame history. This game features one of the most beloved characters of all time, Ezio Auditore.
In this game you will experience the adventures of Ezio in Renaissance Italy, visiting cities such as Florence and Venice. You can also meet historical figures like Leonardo da Vinci and try his incredible inventions.
The plot of the game is beautiful, but, above all, exciting. You can follow the path of Ezio, transforming from a simple and arrogant boy to the leader of the Assassins and fundamental figure in the eternal fight against the Templars.
As for the technical aspects, the graphics of the game is not so bad, considering that the work debuted 10 years ago. Even the gameplay is more fluid than its predecessor, although fighting may be easier. However, you can enjoy climbing and parkour on Italian Renaissance monuments.
You should not miss this game and you must try it. You can find it in our store, at a very low price.
Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag
In this list, I want to include Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag. Why? Well, in my opinion, this was the first “breaking point” in the series. Compared to its predecessors, this game implements new techniques and focuses more on action than stealth. Also, you can explore the Caribbean and its islands only by surfing the waves with your ship.
Plus, the game is based on the figure of Edward Kenway, a pirate, not a real Assassin. From the gameplay point of view, the game is enjoyable and you will be amazed while you engage in naval battles and take care of your vessel. Remember: your ship is your strength and if you want to win in AC: Black Flag you always have to take care of your boat. If you do not, rival pirates and the Queen’s army will sweep you away like a mere hub!
I liked Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag and I think you should try it if you’ve always wanted to conquer the seas like a pirate. You’ll be amazed and spend hours of gameplay trying to finish it 100%, or at least that’s what I did!
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey
The last game I want to include in this list is Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. If you must know, I was undecided between this and Assassin’s Creed Origins, the penultimate chapter of the franchise. However, I chose Odyssey for several reasons.
First, I adored the map. You can explore the WHOLE OF ANCIENT GREECE. I mean, you’re gonna have to spend hours finding out all the available places. This is something I loved because it allows the game to not be repetitive and assures you continuous discoveries, one after the other.
Besides, the combat system has been greatly improved with spectacular and effective combos. I have to tell you that I enjoyed fighting against enemies in AC: Odyssey because every battle was satisfactory. If you want, you can also read my review of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.
Of course, maybe this chapter deviates from the others, leaving the way of stealth and preferring the Action-RPG genre. I recommend you try it even if you’ve never played any games in the series, but you love the AAA games.
What are your choices?
These were my choices regarding the games of the Assassin’s Creed franchise. I’m curious now to know what are the games that struck you about this saga. Let me know your opinion with a comment!
