Demon's Souls PS5

The whole world has gone crazy with the release of Demon’s Souls & PS5. Thousands of gamers on all continents have assaulted the world’s best e-commerce stores to try to conquer this fantastic game/console combination.

Demon’s Souls Remake is the nicest game available for Playstation 5 so far. So, it seems appropriate to deepen this theme, and then maybe we can do some thoughts together on the Sony console.

Demon’s Souls on PS5, pros and cons of this title

I’m warning you, I’m not doing the classic blog review this time. I still don’t feel ready to do it on a game that came out so recently, rather, I’ll tell you my impressions of what I liked and what bothered me.

However, I want to remind you that these are my personal opinions and I will be happy to discuss them with you through the comments section below!

Demon’s Souls: what are the things I DIDN’T like

PS5 Demon's Souls
It’s a fair fight, isn’t it?

Yeah, let’s start with the bad stuff. Of course, there are flaws or things I didn’t appreciate. First, I want to talk about the difficulty of the game. Yes, I know what you’re thinking: “How can the difficulty be a bad thing about the game if Demon’s Souls was one of the most difficult titles of the last twenty years?”

You said well, it WAS one of the hardest games. Now we are talking about remastered, a new game released 7 YEARS AFTER the original one. When I first played Demon’s Souls on PS3, some aspects made the game impossible: an innovative and unique combat system, technical errors that exponentially increased the difficulty level, the absence of checkpoints, and weight management of the armor. I still have nightmares about the Shrine of Storms and the Storm King Boss Fight.

I mean, Demon’s Souls was the first of its kind, an uncharted territory in the world of videogames. Years later, things have changed. With the release of that masterpiece called Dark Souls, SoulsLike has officially become a genre of videogames. Gamers have accumulated more experience with these titles, thanks to the release of the other chapters of the saga From Software and games such as Code Vein and Lords of the Fallen.

Now, everyone knows how to approach this game, knows the value of statistics, and knows how to build a winning character. In a nutshell, Demon’s Souls on PS5 does not have the same effect. Yes, it remains a complicated game, but it doesn’t have that aura of impossibility that permeated it on PS3. It will make you suffer, but in the long run, you will be able to overcome the different levels without being tempted to break your new console.

“I prefer the Xbox One S”

Plus, I didn’t appreciate the technical improvements the game received. I want to explain this point better: Crash Bandicoot N-Sanity Trilogy, for example, has maintained the slow input typical of the first games in the series, even if it is played on PS4.

This makes the remastered version faithful to the original, winking at new and old fans. In Demon’s Souls, this does not happen, as movements like Dodge or Parry are much more fluid. I’m sorry, I find it forced, and once again, it seems to be a factor that lowers the difficulty in general.

So, what makes the game good?

Graphics of the game

Of course, there are also positive things. Hey, you’re playing Demon’s Souls and you’re doing it on PS5, so you can experience the new Sony console in the best way. This title is incredibly addictive and you’ll have to work hard to finish it. Also, as I mentioned earlier, you won’t have checkpoints. You’ll be terrified to get through some areas. Again, if you played the original version, the difficulty will be lower, but that doesn’t make Demon’s Souls an easy game!

However, the best positive feature is the graphics of the game. The graphic work is spectacular, I’ve never seen such a definition of images. You will be thrilled by the attention to detail, some levels of the game will resemble Gothic paintings.

Compared to the original version, the PS5 remake makes clear every character you meet. It’s a real thrill for those who were used to distinguishing NPCs in low definition on PS3. Plus, you can also take advantage of the longevity of the game. It will take several hours to complete the game and I assure you that you will have fun. With Demon’s Souls, you can be immediately satisfied with the purchase of a Playstation 5.

Ultimately, even on this new console, Demon’s Souls remains a pillar of videogame history.

Demon’s Souls & PS5: is it worth buying them?

Playstation 5

At this point, I want to tell you my idea. Let me explain if it is worth buying this combination game + console. Well, I’m sure you know that if you have to choose between PC and console, it’s always worth playing on your computer. I mean, you can have fantastic games at low prices, just like the ones you can find in our store.

Regardless, I think there are a few reasons why you should buy PS5. Sony has tried to launch not just a videogame console, but a device that can become a content hub. With a PS5 you can manage your subscription to streaming platforms, watch movies or sporting events, and listen to music.

Besides, you have to consider PS5 exclusives. Some games will only be available on this console and you won’t be able to find them on your PC. So, I suggest you evaluate this aspect before you decide if you want to buy a Sony console. Moreover, you have to think about how nice it can be to relax on your sofa. Maybe you can connect your PS5 to a 4K TV and play excellently at gaming masterpieces!

Do you agree with me? Once again, I invite you to express your thoughts on PS5 & Demon’s Souls, share them with the Indiegala community, maybe even on Reddit, and discuss them together!
