Death Stranding Steam

Death Stranding finally arrived on Steam. And now it is nominated in the 2020 Steam Awards. The long and awaited labor of love for Hideo Kojima. It’s also the first solo attempt at making a video game. You know, since his bitter divorce from Konami a few years back. Which is why it’s so special to the Kojima devotees. But what’s it all about?

Death Stranding Steam: A Genre Defying Experience

Developed by Kojima Productions and published by 505 Games, Death Stranding is truly a genre-defying experience. You play as Sam Bridges in this game. A courier tasked with delivering supplies to isolated colonies. And reconnecting them via a wireless communications network. The setting is in the USA, but following a cataclysmic event that caused destructive creatures to begin roaming the Earth. Will you be able to do it?

Similar Story Elements To The COVID Pandemic

But that’s not all. Leave it up to Kojima to make the most philosophical, thought-provoking and cinematic game of 2020. Which yes, coincidently has plenty of similarities to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic. And he even refers to Death Stranding as the first “strand game”. However, there’s no denying that the game itself is unique. Heck everything else is too. The story and the characters are as well. You’ll probably won’t find anyone like them. And yes, some call it even a delivery/walking simulator. But in essence but underneath the simple concept of the gameplay lies something else. Lore for one. Also an incredible story with a gripping and beautiful art-style.

And yes, this particular game will definitely not be everyone’s cup of tea. Because of the reasons mentioned earlier. It’s unique, it’s slow and a bit strange. It will definitely put off many, but if you’re a fan of open-world games, then this is for you. Of course, it starts off slow and boring and first. But once you start getting the weapons, vehicles and combat tools, things will go a lot smoother.
