Elden Ring Soulslike

Elden Ring is the new soulslike developed by From Software. I don’t know about you, but I have a crazy hype. I look forward to February 25, 2022, the release date.

But why is Elden Ring so expected? Because From Software could have realized a masterpiece. Let’s analyze together what are the features of this game, also trying to figure out which games to try in these two months of waiting!

Elden Ring: the innovative soulslike

Elden Ring introduces some innovative features into the gameplay. First of all, this game is open-world. You will be able to explore the entire game map, collect resources, face random enemies, and meet NPC around the world. The map seems to be big, exploring it all will be a challenge!

In addition, there will be the day-night cycle. It means that some events will be triggered at certain times of the day. I mean, there’s gonna be a lot to discover, between hidden quests and game secrets. Surely, longevity will be one of the strengths of the title.

Another feature that intrigues me is that concerning Torrent, the steed of the game. This magical horse will accompany us in our adventures. Besides, you can fight on horseback. In some images I saw from CNT, riding with Torrent reminded me of the atmosphere of the game Shadow of the Colossus. Imagine riding through the magnificent scenery of the game, hearing the rustle of the wind, and mowing enemies: what a wonder!

Plus, I can’t wait to find out about the new weapon movesets. So far, every From Software game has made some changes. In Dark Souls it had to be said, in Bloodborne you have to be aggressive, in Sekiro you have to perfect the Parry. What do you have to do in Elden Ring? Well, we have to wait a little longer and then test ourselves with this new game!

The seven soulslike games to try while waiting

Well, there are still many days before February 25, 2022. If you want to kill the time, there are some games you can try. These are soulslike games developed by From Software and other publishers that have a very similar style.

This way, you can train your skills and not be blindsided by the world of Elden Ring. So let’s discover them, here are the best games!

Dark Souls

Dark Souls remastered

Let’s start with the “easy” stuff. Dark Souls is the most famous soulslike. Many consider it one of the most beautiful games of the decade. This title is a mix of difficulty, adventure, lore, and epic bosses.

The philosophy in-game is fascinating, although playing can give you a headache. Anyway, while waiting for Elden Ring, trying a run on Dark Souls can be a great idea. Spoiler alert: If you are a casual gamer, you will regret this choice. However, if you want to do it, you can click here and find the remastered edition in our store!

Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin

Dark Souls II Soulslike

Some love it, others hate it. I loved it. This was the first soulslike I played and I find it brilliant. Of course, Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin is a game that suffers from cut content. In fact, according to some Reddit theories, Dark Souls II was to be the first open-world soulslike, preceding Elden Ring! However, its style is excellent, with numerous bosses one after the other that will make you die many times. Trust me, I was destroying the PC when I confronted the Ruin Sentinels.

Besides, in this game, there is Alvina, one of the best cats in video games. All in all, Dark Souls II can be the ideal soulslike to try during this period. You can find it here and add it to your collection with a simple click.

Dark Souls III: the end of the cycle

Dark Souls III represents the end of the saga. I recommend that you try this game only if you have finished the first two chapters. In this way, you can better understand the lore of the game and experience improved and optimized gameplay.

The gaming experience is reminiscent of the first chapter of the saga. However, playing Dark Souls III can make you cry. Literally. Some people think Elden Ring is “Dark Souls 4“. Well, to find any connections, all we have to do is play Dark Souls III, don’t you think? Do not forget to play the two DLCs, Ashes of Ariandel and The Ringed City, included in the season pass, so you can get a complete overview of the game’s lore.

Bloodborne: this soulslike on PC?

Bloodborne Soulslike

Bloodborne is one of my favorite games. The gothic atmosphere, the fear it instills, the unique fighting style, in short, everything is perfect in this game. I don’t want to spoil you, but the Bloodborne lore has one of the best twists and turns in the video game world. When you discover the true nature of Yharnam, you will be amazed.

Unfortunately, Bloodborne is only available on PS4. However, it seems that things may change soon. In 2022, Bloodborne will probably land on PCs as reported by some rumors. We have to wait and fear the Old Blood!

Lords of the Fallen

Lords of the Fallen Goty

Have you already played the games mentioned? Well, then test your skills with Lords of the Fallen. This title developed by CI Games is considered a clone of the first Dark Souls. The gameplay is very similar to the work of Hidetaka Miyazaki.

As I pointed out in the game review, Lords of the Fallen is a good soulslike. Sure, there are some flaws, but the gaming experience is enjoyable. You can give it a chance and you can find it in our store at a special price.

Code Vein

Code Vein

Code Vein is a thrilling game. The game mechanics are similar to those of Souls Saga. Plus, the graphic style is unique, with fantastic animations in every detail. It is a game that has a special place in my heart. Besides, it manages to involve you thanks to the immersive plot.

Moreover, this game is also difficult. It will give you a hard time even if you have experience with soulslike games. I recommend you try it and add it to your collection. Also, you can read my full review here and get a clear idea about it.

The Surge

The Surge soulslike

The Surge is a game I enjoyed because it has a soulslike atmosphere in a sci-fi environment. As you can see from its trailer, the game setting is extremely interesting. In addition, some bosses will make you cry. You will have to do your best to overcome the most difficult areas. However, I warn you, you will often see the game over screen.

I just want to make speculation, I think Elden Ring will have a “cosmic” twist at some point in the gameplay. However, this is a sci-fi soulslike! If you want to try it while waiting, I highly recommend it!
